Who is this for?

It covers routine legal issues like hiring and firing employees, contract negotiation, liability assessment, and all other matters where you would want an established relationship with your lawyer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if a legal subscription is right for me?

Our packages are for business owners and entrepreneurs who want a trusted legal advisor in their corner at a fraction of the cost of a lawyer from a law firm. These clients also want a strategic partner who is invested in their success and can guide them through the minefield of modern business.

What’s included in my subscription?

All of our packages provide ongoing legal support and strategic advice for your business. In all our packages, we answer all of your legal questions, provide an annual business assessment, a monthly document review, and more depending on your subscription. We can also customize your subscription to fit your business needs. 

Please note that the price for each subscription does not include HST, government filing fees, or fees/disbursements paid by us on your behalf. 

How long is the commitment and how does billing work?

All of our subscriptions are on a month-to-month basis. Each month, we will charge you for your monthly subscription from your credit card or bank account on file. You can also remit payment in advance for the month. 

You may also make a one-time payment to secure a year in advance at a large discount.

How long must I commit to a subscription?

Our business is built on long-term, win-win relationships based on trust and great service. So, we don’t believe in locking in clients if they don’t feel they are getting good value for their money. While we are yet to have a cancellation, you may cancel your subscription at any time. We will return any outstanding payment less any work that has already been completed for you.

What if my business needs change during the course of my legal subscription?

As business owners and lawyers, we understand the rapid pace of change in today’s business climate. If your needs change, simply contact us and we can discuss modifying, upgrading or cancelling your subscription.

Does my subscription cover every legal issue that may come up in my business?

No. There may be issues that fall outside our expertise, such as issues that fall under other areas of law. There may still be other issues that fall outside the subscription package we provide. In that case, we offer discounts on our flat fees or we can reach out to our network of attorneys to help you address your specific need.

What if I need additional services or time beyond what is provided in my subscription?

If your business has additional needs for services beyond what is offered in your package, our lawyers can do most of that work on a flat-fee or project-by-project basis. As a member of the Start-Up or Business Counsel plans, you will receive a 10-15% discount on any additional services. If you are a member of the In-House Counsel plan, you will receive 20% off any additional services. 

You may upgrade your subscription at any time if you wish to receive greater legal support.

What experience do you have with businesses and subscription services?

Our lawyers are entrepreneurs and investors so, unlike most lawyers out there, we understand the practical realities of business. We provide timely, straight-forward answers and know how business and the law come together. Our business clients range from early stage start-up companies to 7-figure businesses.

How do I become a client?

Am I guaranteed a spot as a legal subscription member?

No. While we wish we could have every business on our client roster, our subscription services are in high demand and we limit our new clients each month. 

We only work with clients whom we feel will be a good fit for the tailored services we provide. As a result, if you express an interest, we will start with a strategy session to discuss your business and whether our services are a good fit for both of us.
